Conférence biannuelle de l'Association européenne des anthropologues sociaux (EASA), 20 - 23 juillet 2016
On 23rd July 2016, Zahira Aragüete-Toribio participated in the panel Missing Persons, Unidentified Bodies: Addressing Absences and Negotiating Identities, which was part of the biannual conference of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA).
Zahira presented a paper entitled "Burdensome Absences, Disquieting Remains: Addressing the Histories of the Spanish Civil War Dead", in which she spoke about her work on exhumations in the region of Extremadura, Spain. Other presentations in the panel dealt with issues of death and disappearance in contexts such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Somaliland, Japan, India, Bosnia, Cambodia and Japan.
